EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Join our team! We offer our employees an Inuit-driven work environment with competitive compensation and benefits packages, access to comprehensive training programs, and unique opportunities to foster and engage with Inuit Elders, language and history.

YOUTH ARCHAEOLOGY ASSISTANT(S)

Apply to participate in our upcoming field season alongside Max Friesen’s team, running from July 2-19 (approximately). This is a great, paid opportunity, for youth (18 years and older) looking to get out on the land this summer to help uncover and document our history. No experience is needed--training will be provided. Must have enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and be able to do walking surveys for heritage sites. Please submit a resume and cover letter in-person at the Library or by email to info@kitikmeotheritage.ca

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR

We're looking for an individual to lead an Inuinnaqtun Immersion Preschool Program starting in July.  Qualified candidates should have preschool, early childhood education, and/or teaching qualifications and experience. Must have Vulnerable Sector Check. This position is temporary, for 16 weeks, to lead an immersion-based preschool program, with support from PI/KHS staff and Elders. Parents/caregivers will be required to attend the program. Please submit a resume and cover letter in-person at the Library or by email to info@kitikmeotheritage.ca.

ELDERS-IN-TRAINING

We are looking to add a number of Elder Trainees to our team, to work alongside the current Elders-in-Residence and be mentored into this role. Candidates must be able to communicate with our Elders, demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting cultural reconnection in our community, and nurture a safe, positive environment for learning and teaching. Please get in touch with Emily Angulalik at the Cultural Centre if you are interested.

SHORT-TERM LABOURER

We are looking for several people to help us clean up the shipping crate wood left over from the construction of our new Elders facility at the Kuugalaaq Campus. We will be re-using this lumber to construct another work shed and to build benches and other furniture for the property. This job will involve removing nails from the lumber and helping us transport it to an offsite storage location. Please inquire at the Library if you are interested.
