In 2019, we brought Reel Youth to Cambridge Bay for the first time, working with local youth to offer film making as a medium for technical skill-building and leadership development. In the process, 15 youth made 5 mini-docs about their Elders. The films tell parts of the Elders’ life stories, their traditional knowledge, and their land-based experience adapting to climate change.

Follow along from June 29, 2020 to July 16, 2020, as we release these 5 short films shot by our youth, and one additional film documenting the manufacture of the traditional Kiihimajuq Kammak by Cambridge Bay artists and seamstresses during a week-long cross-community workshop.

The next film will be released on Thursday, July 2, 2020
